Unplug the kettle from the wall socket and allow it to fully cool. Wipe the exterior of the kettle and the base with a moistened cloth, then dry with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive, aggressive, or caustic cleaning materials, as these can cause permanent damage to your appliance. If you live in an area with hard water (high calcification), you may experience a build-up of limescale over time. If this occurs, use a proprietary de-scaling product to treat your kettle, following the manufacturer’s instructions. After de-scaling, fill your kettle with clean water, boil, empty, and rinse it. Repeat this process twice before using the kettle again. You may also notice the appearance of small rust spots inside your kettle, which are caused by impurities in the water and are not a fault or a cause for concern.
